In the heart of St. Petersburg, creativity knows no bounds and inclusivity takes center stage at Creative Clay first Friday Art Market.
Not just another outdoor market, Creative Clay’s Art Market is a celebration of talent, diversity, and the indomitable spirit of the human creative soul. Friday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Creative Clay’s Member Artists and Transition Student Artists will host a heart-centered, love-themed Friday Art Market. The Art Markets are the first Friday of each month, September through May. The February Art Market will feature live music by Ashton and Marcos Sanchez from 10 a.m. to noon, Member Artist karaoke from noon to 2 p.m., and Tampa Bay Food Trucks’ partner, Maggie on the Move.
Art Market is an opportunity for the public to see the organization’s mission in action. Creative Clay’s outdoor courtyard transforms into art lover’s marketplace, offering the community an opportunity to meet the artists behind the incredible works and purchase pieces that resonate with the heart and soul.
From paintings that burst with vibrant colors to hand-made ceramic planters, each piece of art is a testament to the creativity that resides within the Creative Clay community. Visitors to the Art Market are treated to more than just a visual experience. Creative Clay is also partnering with Tampa Bay Watch, who will be at the February Art Market with hands-on fun and learning with their Science on the Move marine program!
Adding a personal touch to the event, for a donation, Member Artists will be on hand to create portrait drawings providing visitors with a unique and cherished memento of their experience. This interactive element creates a memorable connection that goes beyond the transaction of buying art.
The Art Market is another opportunity for artists to enjoy the financial benefit of creating art. Artists earn 50% on all works sold, reinforcing Creative Clay’s commitment to empowering people with disabilities both creatively and economically.
Creative Clay’s mission goes beyond the Art Market. The organization, nestled in the heart of St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District, is a beacon of inclusivity where people with disabilities can express themselves freely through art. The Art Market is a celebration of the achievements of these artists, highlighting their contributions to the local art scene and emphasizing the importance of embracing diversity in creative spaces.
Mark your calendar to visit the Feb. 3 Art Market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Creative Clay: 1846 1st Ave. S, St. Petersburg.
